Burlington, Ontario – Surrounded by his family, Neil passed away peacefully at the age of 75 at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington. Loving husband to Kathleen for 52 years and dear son-in-law of Jenny O’Connor. Proudest Dad of Kimberley Felker (Jeff) and Keith Ross (Heather); adoring Grandad to Connor, Curtis, and Nora; uncle to Jennifer, Jessica, and Katelyn. Predeceased by his parents, Robert and Sheila Ross, and sister, Sheila Gartly.
Neil was born in Keith, Scotland, and emigrated to Canada in 1974 with Kathleen and his in-laws, Ed, Jenny, and Alan O’Connor. He served as a proud member of Peel Regional Police for 32 years, retiring as a sergeant in 2006, and then started what would become a second career with Budds’ Subaru for 19 years. Neil felt fortunate to have a wide circle of friends from his working days and from soccer, swimming, and beyond. He loved a laugh, had an endless supply of jokes, took great pride in his work, and could always be called upon to help someone in need. Over the years he enjoyed regular visits back to Scotland to connect with family and friends and hosted many visitors from the UK. He was loved very much and will be dearly missed. The family would like to thank the Burlington Lung Clinic and Joseph Brant Hospital for their care and compassion.
